Puterbaugh Caddis
$3.00
Don Puterbaugh of Salida, Colorado created the Puterbaugh Caddis in 1964. He had three goals in mind, to create a fly that was easy to tie, easy to see and something that would float well. This is one of the most versatile and durable caddis patterns we ever fished. It has fooled countless amounts of trout on the Arkansas drainage year after year and will continue to do so.

Fishing Strategies:
The Puterbaugh Caddis has become one of the most popular patterns for imitating the adult. It meets all the criteria for a good dry fly. It floats high, is durable and most importantly it is easy to see! The Puterbaugh Caddis may be fished as a single dry fly or as an indicator in a dry-dropper rig. Due to the floatability of the closed-cell foam, the Puterbaugh Caddis excels as an attractor in a dry-dropper setup. This pattern is an excellent choice during the famed Mother’s day Caddis hatch.
