The Plan B is an off-shoot of the standard Chernobyl Ant but has a few upgrades that make this Golden Stonefly well worth it. The under body is flashy, floats high with oversized hackle and most importantly is very durable!
The addition of extra foam will assist in both floatation and visibility. This pattern rides high and is practically unsinkable. The Plan B is a great attractor pattern that can be used to “match the hatch” to imitate Golden Stoneflies, hoppers or Salmon flies depending on size, shape, and color. If you enjoy fishing this pattern, you will love fishing an Amy’s Ant as well.

Fishing Strategies:
This Chernobyl ant variation fishes best throughout the summer months. We typically dead-drift this pattern using a 9-foot leader terminating in 5 or 6x. Although, we typically dead-drift a Plan B do not be afraid to fish it skittered on the surface or even stripped through the film.
